Just a Linkin....

Tonight I am linking to one of my FAVORITE blogs... 2 Kids, a Minivan, and a Mortgage.  She asked us to talk about our favorite summer outing.  This was such an easy one for me.  My favorite summer outing is the place I grew up and my kids favorite place in the world.  My parents resort, Cedar Rapids Lodge.  It truly is a paradise.  There is nowhere in the world I feel less stress.  Love it love it love it.  Thankfully we live just 30 minutes away so we truly go there almost every day in the summer.  Here are some of the things that fill our days...

And finally, just taking in the beautiful scenery.  It doesn't get any better than this.  I am so thankful that my kids get to experience the place I grew to love as a child, and are now getting to the age where they are making so many of their own memories.  It's just awesome.

 



If you haven't yet...be sure to check out 2 Kids, a Minivan, and a Mortgage.  Such a cool family.  I have been so blessed by their faith throughout the past year and a half.  Their beautiful daughter, Lucy, who is 6 has gone through a terrible cancer and all that comes with it.  While they have had many trials, their faith in God does not waiver.  They know that His plan for sweet Lucy is bigger than they could ever imagine.  She's doing really well right now and it's truly made me look at my own kiddies with a different lens.  I try to never take anything for granted.  I thank the Krull family for that.  May God bless all of them in the months and years to come!

Hey...Remember When I Used to Blog?

CLEARLY, blogging has been a struggle for me this summer.  I'm telling you, people, we just live at the resort and do very little else.  I will give you the Readers Digest version of what's been happening this summer.  I'll have to follow with another post  sometime with all the fun resort and family pictures.  Otherwise I'd be pushin the limits of this here post.

Fourth of July parade.  I LOVE it.  Even though this year it was about 130 degrees.  Roughly.

We had a pretty serious storm come through our area.  To say it's been a huge pain would just be an understatement.  We know we are very blessed because others had trees on their houses.  We don't forget that, but it was still a pain.  If you look closely at this picture you can see our truck under all those trees.

One of the reasons we spend so much time at the resort is that if we don't the kids are forced to swim in this.

We planted a garden!  This is what it looked like right after we planted it.

And this is what it looked like about two weeks ago.  It actually grew!

How adorable are these green beans?  We've since eaten some and they are scrumptious.

Nana made Jilly a new Tangled dress.  She would wear it every day if I let her.

Baseball.  Wow did we spend a lot of time at baseball this summer.  Good times.  I actually really enjoy baseball, it was just a lot.  John and Alicia were trying for aunt and uncle of the year and came to one of Calvin's games.  The kids kind of like them...can you tell?
